INKTOBER 2021

Join Blank Space as we all journey through the intense challenge that Inktober brings!

To help you get the most out of this month, we have compiled a fun pack of tools that can help you make some pretty cool pieces.

1) The "official "rules:

  1. Make a drawing in ink (you can do a pencil under-drawing if you want).

  2. Post it*

  3. Hashtag it with #inktober and #inktober2021

  4. Repeat

  5. That's it! Now go make something beautiful.

Note: you can do it daily, or go the half-marathon route and post every other day, or just do the 5K and post once a week. What ever you decide, just be consistent with it. Inktober is about growing and improving and forming positive habits, so the more you’re consistent the better.

*Post it on any social media account you want or just post it on your refrigerator. The point is to share your art with someone. :)

Check out the official prompt list! Feel free to find your own lists, OR make your own!

To help you out, we are making our Pen and Ink workshop video is here for FREE! Give it a look as a nice place to get started if you are feeling overwhelmed with working with this medium.

Next off, we have a friendly way to celebrate all your hard work!

For each time you post your art on our Discord under the Inktober channel, you are given 1 entry into our lottery at the end of the month to win COOL PRIZES (mainly, some sweet goody bags FILLED with pen-and-ink related funness such as great pens, cool sketchbooks, quills, whatever!)

Head on over to our Discord to join (again, this is 100% free!). If you don't want to mess with all that Discord madness, you can also tag us on social media @blankspaceoslo to enter to win. (*side note: Although everyone is encouraged to join us, only residents in Norway can be part of the lottery. Yes, we will ship the awards to anywhere in Norway for you - so join wherever in Norway you are!)

Finally, some useful resources for you:

For those looking to abstain from Inktober this year due to ethical and moral reasons - we hear you! Hopefully these resources can help you regardless.

We encourage you to share your opinions and thoughts on our Discord about the complexity of the case, in addition to what happened and why it is a problem. A direct link to that conversation can be found here.

However, Blank Space never condones WHAT someone is drawing - our goal is to only give them the tools they need to be the best artist they can.

This post summarizes the case well, if you are unaware of what is happening and/or want to learn more.

Here are some fun alternatives to Inktober - no matter what reason!
